  1. SAT II and SAT I are two separate exams.  SAT I covers math, reading and writing, so it's a very general exam.  You typically take this during your junior year.

The SAT II is a subject exam; it tests you in a specific subject of your choice.  For example,  there's a SAT II exam that covers only US History.  See this link: http://www.collegeboard.com/student/test...

So to answer your question, yes you can take the SAT II if you think you've learned enough.  Make sure you check out some practice SAT II questions in your chosen subject area to see if you're ready.  Also make sure that the college you are applying for requires SAT II because not all colleges require it.

Keep in mind that eventually you'll have to take the SAT I or the other general exam, the ACT for college admission.  All colleges that I know of require you to take the SAT or ACT (both general exams) but only certain colleges require the SAT II subject exams.
