http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Phil-Neville-c29904 has played down the idea that Jack Rodwell’s transfer to Manchester City has depleted the Toffees midfield department, claiming that they have got sufficient firepower in the squad.
The 21-year old midfielder, considered by many as the rising English player, signed a five-year deal with the league winners earlier this month, for an estimated transfer fee of 12 million pounds.
His departure from Goodison Park forced many into believing that it will likely create a negative impact for the Merseyside outfit in the long run, as he was the one of the club’s emerging stars.
However, the Everton skipper move to dispel this impression, by insisting that his side still had a whole lot of quality midfielders in the dugout. He also claimed that there was a lot of new talent from the youth academy making its way into the squad, and
was satisfied with the strength of this contingent going into the next season.
The 35-year old told the reporters in an interview, “We are quite strong in central midfield - bearing in mind that Jack hadn't played for the last six months - so I'm sure we can cope with that. It's important to always freshen up with new faces. We have

Although the English International was confident there would be no dire repercussions for his team following Rodwell’s exit, he confessed he was disappointed to see the juvenile midfielder ply his trade elsewhere.
Nevertheless, he viewed the move as a mutually beneficial arrangement for both Everton and City, and was optimistic that they will be able to find a good replacement for him, very soon.
