New $5 bill?

i keep hearing that the new $5 bill is worth more than just 5 dollars because it was marked wrong. is this true? i heard it was on the news and everything

Not a bit of truth in that rumor. If it had been "on the news" then certainly they wouldn't still be showing up in cash registers and people's pockets everywhere, they'd be disappearing as people started to hoard them.

They're worth exactly five dollars, no more, no less. (And the new tens are worth ten, the new twenties are worth twenty, etc.)

urban legend.  Sorry.  If that were the case, they'd have been recalled and shredded by the mint.

WRONG! It would never have made it past the inspectors.

Go to the bank, get a hand full of new $5.00 bills, then go and try to sell them to ignorant people.
