I cannot stand this new version! It takes me 3 or 4 tries just to pull up my homepage. I want my 6.0 back.

  1. If you mean IE7, just uninstall it and you will get 6.0 back. Me, I use Firefox. It works awsome.

  2. It won't be long until everyone will automatically get Internet Explorer 7 if they are using automatic updates. Maybe you should give it a chance. I don't know why you are having problems with it. What operating system are you using? I'm using Windows XP and I have been using Internet Explorer 7 since it was Beta 1 (around a year), switched to Beta 2, Beta 3, RC 1, and then to the full release, and I haven't had any problems with it. I think Internet Explorer 7 is a much better, faster, and more secure browser than Internet Explorer 6.

If you want your previous version back click Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs > scroll down and find Windows Internet Explorer 7 and click on it to highlight it and give you the remove option and click Remove. It will automatically revert back to your previous version of Internet Explorer. Good luck with your choice.

If you want to keep your old version of Internet Explorer and not receive Internet Explorer 7 via Automatic Updates, you need to get this; Toolkit to Disable Automatic Delivery of Internet Explorer 7, or turn off automatic updates.

  3. You can make it much faster if you click on Tools, Phishing Filter and cut off Automatic Website Checking.  If that doesn't make it better, you can go back to IE6 by removing IE7 and the word out seems to be it will automatically return to IE6.  I am using IE7 with Yahoo and MSN Messengers 7.5.  If you decide to keep IE7, you need to reinstall Windows Auto Up Date, Active X,  Spyware Scan on the Yahoo Toolbar, and Menu Bar which includes File, Edit, View, etc. Just found this under View, Toolbars, and Menu Bar. You should also put a check by Lock Toolbars.  I use AVG free for virus protection. That is my setup and it seems to work fine.

start->control panel->add remove programs->at the top check "show updates" radio box->scroll down in the list->you will see IE7 listed, uninstall that, restart and you are on IE6
