I recently started a week ago, I can do top spin forehands and backhands, and return balls that have top spin, but I have trouble hitting balls that bounce high. What do you do against high bouncing balls?

Also, another question. How to predict where the tennis ball is going to land? I can see the direction of the ball, but cannot predict where it is going to land. How to do this?

  1. Hit it over there head. You can't really predict...You just have to know where to hit it. Sorry...I love tennis but I don't know how to answer it too well! Just try your best! =D

  2. 1)hit it over head.

    2) it doesnt have to hit the ground.....over head or forhand it before it lands

  3. When the ball bounces high try to to a volley or an overhead.

Predicting where the ball lands, well thats a matter of practice and experience, the more you play, the better you get at judging it.

  4. im rubbish at these shots too you can try what others are saying (over head shots) or you can try what my coach says and hit it just as it bounces so its not high.  Its hard to do a winning shot on high bouncy shots just aim to return it. And my help topredict where the ball will land is to practice and practice cos then you'll get used to where it might land :D hope that helps.

  5. on the high balls you can do one of two things, either take it early before it bounces too high, which in my opinion is pretty difficult, or you can move back and let it fall for awhile. the latter is one that i prefer, it gives you time to assess the shot and your own court position.

Knowing where the ball is going to bounce will come with time, after a while youll know when someone hits a topspin or a slice, and you be able to judge the depth.
