Okay, so I'm a skater type of girl and I've decided to try something new. I bought myself an awesome, good quality BMX bike just yesterday. It's a Rhinno AirMaxx bike (don't know if I spelled that right >_<).

Okay, I have some questions I would be happy if I had answers to. If you can answer all of them, thats fantastic! If your able to only answer a couple or even one, that's awesome too! Every little bit of help I get helps me a ton.

-What are some begginer moves I can try for a very early begginer?

-The handle bar seems to be too far out. How do I move it in more closer to me? (closer to the seat)

-Are BMX bikes faster than regular mountatin bikes or any other bikes? What kinda bikes are they faster than?

-What are the Pros and Cons to BMX?

-Is there anything else I should know to start of?

Other Info:

-I'm a 13 year old girl and weigh around 90-95 pounds.

-My BMX bike's a gearless bike. (I think their all like that, arn't they? O_o)

Thanks so much for your help! It's really great and nice of you to stop by and help a stranger xD!

Bye.

XoXo.

  1. im a 13 year old boy, and I got a haro sx pro it was about $650 new but if you get a differnet haro sx like a advanced or beginer for less. It is a realy good bike very very light, easy to handle becouse light. check it out I swear this is the best bike for you! theys are the differnt sizes and groups the haro sx come in.

    >> SX Comp XL

    >> SX Comp

    >> SX 24

    >> SX Expert

    >> SX Jr

    >> SX Mini

  2. i think as a beginer move you should learn to bunnyhop and then X-up. 2 and 3 stairs are good to learn on too. To adjust your handlebars loosen the headset, find a comfy spot and then tighten them. If you cant figure it out go ask a guy at a local bike shop. BMX bikes are as fast as you make them, changing your sproket size, tires, and leg strength helps. Be sure your tires are pumped up to the right psi, (it says on the tire sidewall). Lastly, dont get discouraged or give up if you dont get it at first. i know its lame but practice does make perfect.

  3. First off the haro's that he is talking bout are for racing. You are talking bout tricks so im guessing you don't race. Dont waste your money on a race bike. Gt's are more worthless than HARO if you want something good go on danscomp.com and order a FIT anyways....

Start with the bunny hop... it is a staple you will need for almost any other trick. If you have a skatepark near by ...learn air outs and how to be smooth before trying anything harder. Most importantly be comfortable with your bike.

There are four allen bolts on the stem...loosen them and then pull the bars back. Generally the best spot for most control is to have them at the same angle as your forks.

BMX bikes are probably one of the slowest bikes because they only have one gear. You can change the gearing to go much faster but the standard 44/16 isn't going to beat very many bikes.

    pro's

    enjoyment

    con's

lots of pain when you fall

also once you get into bmx a little more, get taller, and start pushing your bikes limits, I would suggest investing in a better bike. Your bike is perfect for you now but won't last once you get more into bmx. A strong light BMX bike can cost anywhere from 400 to 2000+ dollars.

  4. 1. Well first start off practicing bunny hops and manuals.

    2. Get some allen keys to unscrew the bolts alittle and pull them back.

    3. Well it depends on how your ride. I dusted cops on those bigger bikes before on my friends bike that has a 25/9 set up.

    4. PROS: fun, a chance to get sponsored, meet new people, gets your body stronger, keeps you fit annnnnd....i dunno

CONS: Possible broken bones(depending on what you do), scrapes and bruises(which is nothing), scars(but i wear mine like badges) and some messed up shins.

5, Well the only thing i can tell you is: dont do anything that passes your limit. And if you're ever in NYC hit up the BKLYN banks that place is historic for the extreme and try not to ride on the sidewalks like that cops will give you a ticket.

Oh yeah and dont EVER get these brands: Haro, GT, DYNO, Diamondback, Specialized(they're not that light) and mongoose. always go for the $300+ range in completes.

  5. a couple things, rhino bikes arent good. and neither are haros for their price. you can get a GT for 100$ less. GT's are better

and if your going street, id suggest learning to ride backwards.

and i also suggest putting a peg on the front wheel so you can Firehydrant.

as for the handlebars, loosen the headset and move the handlebars to where you want them, then tighten it back up.

BMX's are faster on flat ground, Mountain bikes win downhill because they have bigger sprockets. but obviously, racing bikes are fastest generally.

Pros: its more fun. and you can go farther with a bike than on a board

Cons: addicting. you will get injured more than skating by far, i made the transition, and its alot more painful. cant do it too much in winter.

what you should know to start off is dont try to do too much, and if you dont get a trick right away, dont get discouraged.

if your riding dirt, your going to need to learn to bunny hop
