New Carpet is fraying at edges, need new edging? Is it hard to Install the aluminum strip?

Thank you, yes it has strips on already but the landlord used old ones and it didnt do it just right

  1. you mean in the doorway where the carpet finishes?

    there isint a strip on it already ?

    anyway, its really simple.

    cut the excess frayed carpet off.

    use some latex or even wood glue to seal the edge of the carpet and help prevent it fraying again (not essential but a good idea)

    cut the strip to length, and on timber floor nail it down, making sure that you cover the edge of the carpet and that your door still closes over it.

    it should come with appropriate nails if you but it from a hardware store.

    on a concrete floor you will need to mark the nail holes, drill them with a masonary drill bit and hammer 'wall plugs' into the holes, then you nail into these plugs.

    there are other types but this is the most basic.
