New Chelsea signing Gary Cahill has revealed he is looking forward to the opportunity of playing in the UEFA Champions League for the Blues.
The English defender became Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas’ first signing of the winter transfer window when he moved to Stamford Bridge from Bolton Wanderers for an estimated fee of 7 million pounds. He revealed he was looking forward to testing himself
against Europe’s elite.
Cahill said while speaking to reporters:
“That's the whole reason you want to move. You want to play at the top level and the Champions League is the top level. I've only played in Europe when I first moved to Bolton; (Atletico) Madrid away, Sporting Lisbon, teams like that.
It'll be a new experience for myself, and I'm looking forward to pitting my wits against the top players in the world.”
Having previously only played with the likes of Atletico Madrid and Sporting Lisbon in Europe, Cahill will be extremely pleased at the opportunity to take on the European giants when the Champions League resumes in February.
The 26-year-old joins a http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 side who have been struggling in defence this season. His arrival is expected to strengthen the back four and give the Blues a new life as they prepare to launch a renewed title challenge in the second half of the season.

“He's a great addition and he hasn't played Champions League football, which is an added bonus for us.
He's a great defender; he reads the game well, he's got a bit of pace and he's good in the air - he scores important goals, he has done for Bolton.”
