New Dell laptop keeps disconnecting from dial-up server?

I have a new Dell laptop computer which uses a dial-up connection (phone line) to my ISP server. After just a few minutes it disconnects automatically. This happens regularly...very annoying. I have checked my cables and the other house phones and they seem fine. Former computer used the same dial-up server without any problems. Any idea what is happening? Thanks for any help.

Download and run spybot and superantispyware

reinstall the driver files

check with your isp for problems that maybe they are having and then i would check to see if it still happens if you plug your laptop directly into the service jack on the outside of your house.  if this resolves the problem it means your house has faulty wiring or it is to old.
