I have regular TV with an antenna on the roof. When I buy this "box" for the digital TV can I get rid of my old antenna, or does this new system still use an antenna?? Thank you.

  1. I waited and bought a Zenith DTT901 box, which I love using. My problem is antennas. I've had best reception picking up out of state stations like Wisconsin, Michigan, and Indiana in the Chicago area, However, atmospheric conditions seems to affect how many far stations will come in with the converter box. At times I get close to 45 stations, including all Chicago broadcasts digital and anolog. Other times, I can't even get all of the Chicago tv stations. Channel 2 is the most difficult to pull in.

  2.   Stricker is right. Your existing roof antenna should work just fine. BTW, by your having it on the roof, you might pull in quiet a number of stations without real problems.

  3. you need to keep it

  4. If you have an analog TV set and you are viewing local channels, your old antenna may work to receive the new digital signal. Some sources claim that you will need a new digital antenna, but that is not proven yet. In either case, you will still need an antenna.
