  1. Go to a good pro shop and if they have a driving range or a golf simulator ask to hit both clubs. Ask  them to watch your swing and see if they have any suggestions to the way you are swinging the club, and if they think the flex is right for you. Personally I love the Hi bore with the red fujikaura shaft. It feels effortless for my swing, and I've picked up 15 yards on my drives because I was fitted with the right club and shaft. I hope this helps you.

  2. I have the ft-5 and when i bought it it had the 150 fijikaura shaft and i had a high ballooning slice went in for a fitting and unded up changing the shaft found one perfect for my swing it is a awe inspiring thing to watch a ball i've hit go over 280 carry and over300 staight

and its from the shaft what a difference GET FITTED IT WORKS thats why i like callaway with thier oti-fit system you can try 100s of different types of the same club I have tried the Hi_bore great if you need height to your shots but get the FT-5 awesome club

  3. ft-5 is meant to be more workable than the hi-bore so it depends on what you need

a net is very hard to see if the golfball has spin like a slice and the ft-5 won't help with that but the hibore is far harder to make curve so if you are good enough and want to work the ball around corners it won't work there well

  4. I just tested a lot of drivers, ask the guys at golfsmith, I went through just about every one of them and just bought the Hibore XL.  I love it, I loved the XLS, but for me, the extra $100 was not worth it.  Both are so forgiving.  Off-center hits still boom and fly.  Even low line drives still flew.  I hit it on Sunday, and hit my longest drive ever (ok, it was only 240, but for me that was the longest I have ever hit and still hit the fairway -- I am relatively new to the game.)

Personally, I like the Callaway Irons, but the Cleveland XLS driver was just the best driver -- for me -- that I tested.
