Question:

New Ear Piercings, please help!?

I am on the drill team at my school and seven weeks ago I got double piercings. They are fine but for a routine we do in a week my drill team instructor doesn't want us wearing earrings.

I know that studs should be in the ears at all times for six months but would it hurt my ears if I took them out for an hour in a week for this routine? Would my ears actually begin closing in an hour since I have only had them in 7-8 weeks or would they be fine?

I haven't talked to my instructor yet but I will it this will be a problem.

Thanks in advance!

  1. Keep your earrings in your ears for the first 6 months. You can change the earrings at 6 weeks for a different set, but you can't leave them out of the holes for 6 months. If left out of the holes, there is a chance that the holes will start to grow back together.

  2. i got my ear pierced, and i take the earings out whenever i feel that they need some air. i definately don't think they'll close in just an hour. you'll be fine. goodluck!

  3. i have that same problem now i don't want my new piercings to close

  4. ummm when i got my ears pierced i was told to only keep them in for like 6 weeks......i never heard of anyone keeping them in for 6 months. i didn't and my ears are fine so yours should be too.
