Good evening folks,So i bought this 1997 chevy cavalier and i either want a new engine or remanufactured engine put in it.I am wondering how much it would cost for the engine and labor for the shop to put it in? The motor size is a 4 cylinder 2.2L.I just had the car repainted and bought chrome rims for it and i want to be assured it lasts me a few years before i have major problems with it.I also recently had a new transmission put in it aswell so i think besides the engine im pretty smooth sailing. But if anyone could give me a ball park estimate on parts and labor before i start goin around looking would be great Thanks =]

Also, what parts would come with the new engine incase there are a few parts i want to buy new,Thanks again

heres one i found on ebaymotors.com used. you can also get them from o'reillys, autozone and advanced auto parts and it will be in the ballpark of 1700 dollars for a "brand new" remanufactured engine. labor to put it in will be around 4-500 dollars depending on the shop.

a reman engine will come with everything except your intake which can be reused, same with exhaust manifolds, ect. it is basically a new engine, new pistons/crank/cams/rods ect with 0 miles on it. perfect for what you need. also, you will need to reuse any sensors on your old engine for this new one. yw.

  2. just drive the car normaly and do the oil changes in time  check the fluids and that car should last you  more than a couple of years
