New England Patriots QB Tom Brady admires Peyton Manning – NFL News
New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has said that he admires quarterback Peyton Manning, who is currently playing for Denver Broncos.
Peyton’s long career is highlighted with a number of achievements and appreciation from a player like Brady indicates the high stature of Peyton.
Peyton is the league’s only player to have been given the honour of Most Valuable Player (MVP) four times. He is an 11-time Pro Bowler, while he is also the best player Indianapolis Colts have ever had. He parted ways with Colts this year and joined Broncos.
Brady and Manning have faced each other a number of time, and as Patriots prepare to face Broncos in Week 5 game this Sunday, Brady will see Manning again, this time after a gap of one year as Manning missed the entire last season due to a neck injury.
Talking to reporters, Brady said about Manning:
“He's someone that I've always looked up to and admired, and I respect the way he plays the position, and the way he works, the way he leads. He's been a phenomenal player. We played against him for a long time against the Colts, it seemed like every year.
You see a lot of those games, and obviously I've learned a lot from him."
Meanwhile, Patriots coach Bill Belichick has also praised Manning as his side gets ready to face Broncos. Belichick said:
“I think he has no weakness in his game. He does everything well."
Manning responded to Belichick’s remarks saying:
"I think for me to respond to that would be too informative. If that's Coach (Belichick)'s evaluation, that's his.”
Earlier, Peyton also shed some light on his association with Brady and appreciated the latter’s effort for extending helping hand to Peyton when he was injured last year.
Like Peyton, Brady has also a lot of achievements under his belt. He is a seven-time Pro Bowler, three-time Super Bowl winner and two-time Super Bowl most valuable player (MVP).
Both these players do not have much playing time left in their respective careers as they are fast aging and to see them having respect and praise for each other is a commendable depiction of professionalism and sportsmanship.
