New England Patriots QB Tom Brady says football is the only job he ever wanted - NFL News
A week earlier New England Patriots quarterback, Tom Brady’s father, Brady Sr. had told Yahoo! Sports during an interview that he still remains concerned over the safety of his son during games.
With reports about former players suing the league over claims that it did not do enough to educate them over the harmful effects of concussions in addition to the high profile suicide of former NFL great, Junior Seau, discussions on player safety has taken
centre stage.
Many players who have just retired from the game have also stated that they would not be too happy to see their children playing in the National Football League (NFL) due to concerns over their safety.
Tom Brady though in an interview with Tom Curran of Comcast SportsNet New England said that his father is always a “concerned parent” and that there is no other job in the world he would rather do instead of playing the game he loves.
"Everybody has a different take,"
He continued.
"My dad is always happy to share his opinion with anybody that will ask, often contrary to my own beliefs. ... He's always a concerned parent, and we as parents are always concerned about our kids."
He went on to say that football has taught him how to work as part of unit while also instilling discipline and mental toughness.
"There's no job I'd rather have in the world. I'm so fortunate to be in a job that's so fun for me every day. What football has taught me in the grand scheme of my life about being a part of a team and working with people and hard work, discipline and mental
toughness -- all those things that serve me in life.”
Brady also said that all the lessons he’s learned throughout his playing days far outweigh any injuries or problems he has suffered.
The quarterback is considered one of the best players at his position in the league with many naming him as the best player of his generation.
Brady has won everything in the National Football League (NFL) over the course of his 13-years in the league and has three Super Bowl rings to his name after playing in five Super Bowl events.
In addition to his three Super Bowl rings the player has considerable NFL records to his name and other individual achievements.
He played his fifth Super Bowl this year which the Patriots lost after a 21-17 defeat to the New York Giants at the showcase event.
