New England Patriots QB Tom Brady talks about Super Bowl XLVI - NFL News
New England Patriots quarterback, Tom Brady, touched upon a multitude of topics on Wednesday in his interview with
Sports Illustrated columnist Jimmy Traina.
The quarterback was in a revealing mood as he talked about the Patriots Super Bowl XLVI defeat to the New York Giants right at the death as well as Patriots tight end, Rob Gronkowski, dancing just a few hours after the defeat.
He was asked about his final desperate Hail Mary pass in the dying seconds of the final quarter of Super Bowl XLVI which was inches away from giving the Patriots victory.
Brady said.
"It's interesting because this is the first time someone's asked me that question. I threw it and when I let it go, I knew we were gonna have a chance. The ball got batted up in the air and I saw it tip 60 yards away from me, but then I got knocked down,
so I fell to the ground and I saw the ball get deflected,"
Adding further he said.
“Unfortunately, though, I looked over and saw the bad guys running on the field.”
That final pass in the game was inches away from being taken by tight end, Rob Gronkowski, but he missed the ball and the Giants went on to win 21-17.
Gronkowski played with an injured ankle in that game and looked hampered throughout by the injury.
Brady also talked about a video that was released showing Gronkowski partying right after the Super Bowl defeat and said.
“Everyone's blowing off steam. It was unfortunate we were in a public place. I wish we, as players, had a private place to go.”
He also went on to praise the tight end and said that he loved football and has made a huge contribution to the Patriots during the last two years.
Brady remains one of the best quarterback’s in the game and with him leading the offence the Patriots are once again expected to make a big push for the Super Bowl.
The quarterback has made it to five Super Bowl finals in his career winning three of them and in 2012-13 he will be hoping to get that elusive fourth ring to his name.
