New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski explains post-Super Bowl dancing - NFL News
New England Patriots tight-end Rob Gronkowski has finally come out to explain his attendance of a party and busting of moves on the dance floor right after the Patriots heart-breaking 21-17 defeat in the Super Bowl XLVI to New York Giants.
In an interview on Friday, the tight-end said that he was just having fun with his family and the presence of hip-hop band LMFAO was also a factor.
However, he made it clear that he had been practicing and working hard throughout the week to get healthy for the Super Bowl and that he always gave a 100% in every game for New England.
The tight-end, received severe criticism from fans and analysts after being caught on camera dancing around at a party right after the Super Bowl defeat.
Gronkowski on Friday said that.
"I'm 100 percent in, every single game, every single practice, every single thing just to get out there on the field. You don't work that hard all year to get to the final game and lose. It just hurts, definitely. It just went on. I'm an [easy going kind
of] guy. I try to get over things as soon as possible."
Adding further he said.
"I have a lot of fun with my family. It was the first time I got to see them in a while. We were just having fun with my brothers and stuff, friends I hadn't seen in a while. The chance to hang out with [the band] LMFAO, that was pretty cool, too.”
Gronkowski played in the Super Bowl but his performance was subdued as he struggled with an ankle injury throughout the game.
With one of Tom Brady’s favourite offensive outlets hampered by injury, the Patriots still managed to lead the game for long periods of the match and could even have won it if not for wide receiver Wes Welker’s dropped catch in the fourth period.
The Giants rallied and quarterback Eli Manning combined with Victor Cruz and Mario Manningham for the game winning drive as New York won 21-17.
The tight-end underwent surgery after the Super Bowl to repair his ankle and is currently undergoing rehabilitation to prepare him for the upcoming 2012-13 season.
