New England Patriot’s Tom Brady is looking forward to showdown with New York Jets
With his team at 9-2, and tied atop the AFC East, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is excited for next Monday 6 December’s showdown against division rivals, the New York Jets.
In an interview with WEEI-AM radio on Monday 29 November, Brady talked about this season and explained, “We're 9-2, we haven't accomplished anything. These games that we're playing, yeah, they're important, but a lot of guys on this team have played in much
bigger games and, to me, we really haven't accomplished anything."
Brady explained, "Nine wins is nothing.' It's not easy this time of year. There's a lot of guys banged up, mental toughness an issue, weather an issue, games are getting tougher."
The Patriots will have a great challenge awaiting them when they face the Jets. The teams met earlier this season in New York, where coach Rex Ryan and the Jets had a perfect game plan in line to stop their rivals.
During that 19 September game, which saw the Jets defeat New England 28-14, Brady threw two interceptions while managing to throw for 248 yards, and a two touchdowns.
The Jets and Patriots rivalry has heated up in the past couple of years, and both teams have remained competitive. "I hate the Jets, so I refuse to support that show," Brady said in an August interview with radio station WEEI-AM, about an HBO reality television
show, Hard Knocks, which featured the New York Jets in training camp before the 2010 season.
"Playing them (a) fourth time (under Jets coach Rex Ryan), I have a lot more confidence than the first time we played them," Brady said during Monday's interview on
The Dennis & Callahan Show. "It's going to be a h**l of a game. I'm excited for it."
