New England Patriots’ Tom Brady misses practice, Aaron Hernandez back on field – NFL News Update
New England Patriots have good and bad news upfront. While their quarterback, Tom Brady sat out of practice, the team finally had their tight end, Aaron Hernandez return to the field on Wednesday.
Hernandez suffered a head injury while playing against Denver Broncos last Saturday.
The incident happened in the fourth quarter of the game and made Hernandez miss the remainder of the game.
Hernandez had said that he was okay after the game ,showing no signs that he would likely miss out the next game.
That same tone could be witnessed after he took part in Wednesday’s practice, though on a limited basis.
"I feel great. Ready to play." Hernandez said.
Hernandez took four passes for 55 yards and scored a touchdown before he left the game. His return to the team is of much importance as he has proven to be the Patriots leading rusher.
Meanwhile Tom Brady missed out practice on Wednesday due to a shoulder injury. He was the only Patriots player to miss out practice. It was the Patriots first practice for the AFC championship game. Brady had sustained an injury
to his left shoulder which he does not use for throwing the ball while playing against the Miami Dolphins. The injury though has not made him miss out any game, even though it has been known all along that the injury continued to trouble him.
There were no signs that the injury was nagging him when he played against the Broncos last weekend and threw six touchdown passes to equal the National Football League (NFL) record. Brady had his name removed from the injury list
just two days before the AFC divisional playoff game.
Brady also did not exhibit any signs of trouble as he appeared on media earlier on in the week.
The Patriots face the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. The injury may turn out to be a source of trouble for New England as they get ready to host the Ravens.
Brady has been the key player who played the most important role in helping the Patriots engineer nine straight victories in their last nine games.
Brady has thrown for 5,235 yards and scored 39 touchdowns this season.
The Patriots coach Bill Belichick, though was optimistic that his players were doing better than before and would get back on the track by recovering from their ailments.
"We'll see how everybody is today going out there. I think everybody is today better than they were yesterday, yesterday better than they were Monday. The guys that are banged up are all working hard to get treatment and trying
to get back out there. We'll just have to see how it goes." Belichick said.
There were 12 other Patriots’ players who were limited in practice on Wednesday.
