New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick compliments San Francisco 49ers WR Randy Moss – NFL News
New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick complimented San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Randy Moss on Wednesday.
Patriots are going to face 49ers in Week 15 game on Sunday, December 16, along with their ex-teammate Moss.
During a press conference, Belichick said of Moss:
"He's the greatest deep-ball receiver that's ever played. Nobody runs better patterns or has a better feel for the deep part of the field like Randy Moss does. He's an explosive, dynamic player, and probably the smartest receiver I've
ever coached. I know he absolutely knows what he's doing and knows what the defence is doing."
Moss is an experienced player. He was originally drafted by Minnesota Vikings back in 1998. During his long National Football (NFL) career, Moss has played for Vikings, Oakland Raiders and Patriots. He joined the 49ers earlier this
year.
He has started one game with 49ers and now he will be starting his second game with them against Patriots. He has 21 receptions for 326 yards and scored two touchdowns this season.
Moss has replaced Mario Manningham, who is listed as uncertain due to his shoulder injury.
Belichick noted that Moss’ game-play has not changed much. Moss takes long strides while running and can easily outrun the defenders.
Belichick said:
"I still see him doing that. Because of his ability to do that, it certainly opens up a lot of other things. You have to respect his ability to go deep, stretch the field, get behind you. It's hard to take that away and defend everything
else that he can do."
Belichick considers Moss as the best deep ball receiver in the NFL. Moss has 975 receptions for 15,184 yards and scored 155 touchdowns in 14 years of his career.
Patriots have won 10 and lost three games this season and are leading American Football Conference (AFC) East. On the other hand, 49ers are 9-3-1, and leading National Football Conference (NFC) West. It is certainly going to be an
exciting game and Moss’ experience can greatly help the 49ers.
