New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady speaks out over alleged altercation with Randy Moss
There has been much speculation as to why the New England Patriots traded wide receiver Randy Moss to the Minnesota Vikings.
Rumours had been circulating about an alleged altercation between Moss and quarterback Tom Brady, and much of the public assumed that the departure of Moss may have been due to such rumours. But the Patriots quarterback has come forward, and has let the
public know that there was never any problem between himself and Moss.
When asked in an interview with radio station WEEI-AM whether the rumours of the altercation were true, Brady stated, "No, certainly not. I don't know why these things come about, but they do. I think it's just a competitive media culture out there now."
"I love (Moss) as a person and a player. I don't think I ever had an altercation with a teammate. You demand a certain level of respect in the locker room, that's the culture of our team. I don't think I've seen any players in our locker room fight, that's
just not the way it is."
Brady also commented on questions as to whether or not he had any say in Moss being traded, "Certainly not. I'm a player on this team just like all the other players," he said. "Obviously, I talk a lot to the coaches and they talk to the players. They never
come and say, 'Well, what do you think about this?' No. We show up to work and we do our job. And I think that's the best way to handle things as a player."
When asked whether or not Moss was unhappy playing in New England, Brady said, "Well, I have no idea... with all due respect, with all the different questions I'm sure you guys have about Randy, he's moved on."
Since Moss was traded to the Vikings last week, the New England Patriots have brought back Deion Branch from the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for a fourth-round draft pick.
