New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady’s performance in NFL 2012 season – NFL Special
New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, who has performed really well from the start of his career, is now again leading his team towards playoffs in the National Football League (NFL) 2012 season.
Patriots had a good start to the regular season as they won their first game against Tennessee Titans by 34-13. Brady got his nose almost broken in the second quarter of the game, but instead of leaving the ground he managed to play well.
He was 23 of 31 for 236 yards and two touchdowns. In the first quarter, he completed his 301st touchdown pass and ranked 5th in most TD pass in NFL history by surpassing John Elway.
He said after the game:
"It wasn't perfect by any stretch, but it's always fun to win, it's a good feeling."
He made fun of his injured nose covered with a white bandage, he added:
"I need some scars.”
Week 2 game was against the Arizona Cardinals, who defeated them by 20-18. Cardinals’ strong defence did not let Brady to score more, he was sacked four times.
He completed 28 of 46 passes for 316 with one touchdown and one interception.
In Week 3, Patriots faced their second defeat against Baltimore Ravens by 30-31. It was a close game and Patriots were leading until the start of fourth quarter (30-21).
Brady managed to score one touchdown and completed 28 of 41 passes for 335 yards.
His performance was amazing in Week 4 game against Buffalo Bills as he scored three touchdowns and completed 22 of 36 passes for 340 yards with the quarterback rating of 96.5.
For the first time in the franchise history, Patriots scored 45 points in second half of a game. The overall yards the team gained were 580, which was the fourth-best in the team’s history.
Patriots won Week 5 game against Denver Broncos by 31-21. Brady reached his highest completion percentage of the season that is 74.2%. He was 23 of 31 for 223 yards and one touchdown.
It was 13th meeting of Peyton Manning and Brady. Manning played better than Brady but could not get a win.
In Week 6, Patriots got a controversial loss against Seattle Seahawks. The replacement referees were brought in the line of fire for making a few wrong decisions that eventually cost Patriots the game.
Brady was sacked in the first half by Seahawks defensive tackle Jason Jones and was intercepted twice in the second half. He was 36 of 58 for 395 yards and two touchdowns.
Patriots outclassed New York Jets in overtime of Week 7 game and Brady once again shined for the team. He finished 26 of 42 passes for 259 yards.
Week 8 game against St. Louis Rams was superb as Patriots won by 45-7. Brady scored 23 of 35 for 304 yards and four touchdowns and got 98.4 quarterback ratings.
After their bye week, Patriots won two more games in a row as Brady continued leading the offence from the front. They defeated Bills in Week 10 and Indianapolis Colts in Week 11.
After Week 11 game, Brady has 21 touchdowns to his name and he has so far completed 256 of 392 passes for 2,976 yards with three interceptions.
He is the player who has won Super Bowl MVP twice and led his team win Super Bowl thrice. He has once again taken the team on the path for playoff qualification and it will be interesting to see if he gets his fourth Super Bowl title this time.
