New England Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker to stick to game plan against Houston Texans – NFL News
New England Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker will stick to the game plan in Week 14 game against Houston Texans.
Talking to a press conference recently, Welker shared his views about Texans and his quarterback Tom Brady.
According to Welker, Texans are tough team and their defence performs really well, they cannot get soft with them at any spot.
He said:
“I think that the kind of pressure that they get especially those defensive tackles. The way they really get after the quarterback. They’re very disruptive and cause a lot of negative plays and really do a great job.”
Patriots and Texans are going to face each other on December 10. Texans have won 11 and lost one game this season and they are leading American Football Conference (AFC) South.
On the other hand, Patriots have won nine and lost three and they are the leaders of AFC East. They are improving their performance consistently, as they have won last six games.
Welker has 92 receptions for 1,064 yards and scored four touchdowns. He is playing really well and standing at the top with most receptions in this season.
He really likes the way Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is leading the team, he always want to be open to Brady when receiving the football.
He said of Brady:
“He’s our guy back there and we got to do a good job protecting him. We got to do a good job as receivers getting open for him.”
He added:
“He doesn’t really put the ball in places where the defender really has a chance to make a play. He’s very accurate. We just got to go out there and make plays for him.”
According to Welker, who is among Brady’s favourite receivers, all the players are responsible for outcome of a game and a single player cannot be held responsible for it. It is certainly going to be an interesting game as it is going to test the true potential
of both these teams.
