EA Sports is set to expand their EAFC experience with their latest iteration of the hugely successful FIFA series with a host of new features set to be added including cross platform connectivity.
FIFA 12 remains EA Sports best-selling title of all time as the game smashed all the previous records of the games in the series. Apart from being a financial success the game was hailed by both fans and critics as being the best entry in the FIFA series to date.
One major feature of the game is the EA Sports Football Club, which allowed gamers to experience the game in new ways and stay connected with fans from all over the world at the same time. Leaderboards were introduced and clubs actually fought for honours online via their supporters.
It turns out that social platform connectivity will be a major part of the FIFA 13 EA Sports Football Club experience as the feature is set to be released on the iPhone and the iPad as well as the PlayStation Vita.
News kits, virtual pro attribute boosts, special celebrations and other in-game content will also be added to the long list of EASFC features.
The Vice-president of Football at EA Sports, Matt Bilbey, pitched the expanded features when he said, "We connect fans to the heartbeat of the sport-and to each other-through EA SPORTS Football Club," before continuing, "We've had a transformative year operating as a live service, connecting players to real-world football events with fresh, new content, enabling them to support their favourite club, and allowing them to connect and compete with their friends.”
He also pointed out that the launch of the next instalment in the FIFA series would see EA, “reward our fans for their support, offer in-game incentives to keep them playing longer and all season long, and provide new ways for fans to stay connected to our game across multiple devices and platforms."
FIFA 12 changed the core dynamics of the series in what many considered a risky move, however it paid off in a big way. Yet one can expect more refining when it comes to FIFA 13 than revolutionary gameplay breakthroughs as the developers attempt to perfect in 13 what they built in 12.
