To their surprise, LOSC Lille fans saw prolific striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Moussa-Sow-c26939 join Turkish side Fenerbahce. Following his move, Moussa Sow spoke about the reasons behind his departure from the Ligue 1 champions
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Senegal-c3001 international, Moussa Sow only recently joined Turkish Super Lig giants Fenerbahce. The 26-year-old has put pen to paper on a 4-year-deal with the club in which he will earn 3.2 million Euros per year.
The transfer to the Turkish club certainly surprised many people especially after Sow helped Lille to their first Championelle in over five decades last season. Despite interest from many English Premier League sides, Sow chose to join Fenerbahce.
However, the Senegalese says that he never actually wanted to leave Lille halfway through the season. The striker’s representatives were negotiating over a new contract with Lille but both parties could not reach an agreement.
While talking to the media, Sow revealed that he never wanted to leave the club especially with the knowledge that he was in an ambitious club.
“It’s true that I could have stayed. I was doing good at LOSC. When I read that the president said “he was greedy,” I never spat at anyone. When you read such things from the mouth of your chairman, it hurts,” said Sow.
Visibly affected by the end of his adventure at Lille, the former Stade Rennais striker is still happy to have arrived at Istanbul.
“Fenerbahce wanted me for sometime. It is a great club. I hope to adapt more quickly and scored goals.” Many people say that Sow went to Turkish football only because of the financial nature of his contract. However, Sow disagrees with those revelations.
“I could have gone elsewhere if it was a financial decision. If LOSC had made a proposal, I would have stayed. But since the first discussion were concluded, there was nothing,” he regretted.
Clearly, Moussa Sow is not happy with the way things have turned out. After only playing one full season for Les Dogues, Sow never wanted to leave and has given his say on things. It now falls on Lille direction to say something about this.
