Ok so my parents just bought me a new filly. She isn't completey saddle broke and she has never had a bit in her mouth in her life I'm sure.

She is just under 2 years old and is getting to that point where she is going to become stubborn...

I can definitly get her well trained in ground work and get her saddle broke etc.but I am still young and don't know if I could teach her how to respond correctly to aids after that etc.

I am debating whether I should hire a trainer at that point?

PS

I have trained horses in the future to the point where they are saddle,halter...etc. broke

  1. Seek someone with more experience than yourself.  It is worth it to either pay for their services or barter some time helping them at other tasks.

  2. i would recomend that you wait till the filly is at least 2 and a half before breaking it into saddle- i made a round arena out of tape- once you have the ground work under controll then start worring about getting on her back. just get the manners under controll, i always as for help when im getting on a horses back for the first time, remember that what ever you teach it will stay in its head for the rest of its life; when i first got on my youngster i couldnt use my legs at all so try using your hand on its rump and using your voice. but the aids come in time just worry about getting on it.

    hope this helps good luck

  3. Well if you trained horses in the future then I guess You have to wait till then

That and hire a trainer Now because the future may be to late
