  1. It's a pretty individual choice, get him a gift card

  2. He needs to go to a store and try different clubs. A pro there will look at this swing and determine which clubs best suit him. There are starter sets he can look at that will get him started. He can also ask the pro if he is taking lessons, which I recommend.

BTW, I wouldn't buy clubs for a boyfriend.

  3. when you go to a golf shop get his swing speed and ask for a set of clubs with alot of offset.  That way they will be easier to hit, and make sure he starts out on the practice green.  If you can chip and putt you will be fine, and when he goes to the practice tee tell him to leave the driver at home just bring 2 wedges a 7 iron and a 5 iron.

  4. Depends. How serious is he?

If he is a complete beginner then go to wal-mart or target and get him a full set for $100.00.

If he is been playing for a while and wants to upgrade that is somethings best left for him to get on his own.

  5. I started with a simple Wal-Mart brand until I got a feel for the game.  Then I went to a name brand set which was actually geared toward a low handicap player because of the small clubface.  It help me out though.  I now play a brand geared more to my handicap.

  6. I am a golfer. I have been golfing since I was 2. If you want to give your husband a golf set i would by him a set of Golden Bears. They are sold at sports stores and stores like Wal-Mart and such. It is a good starting set and for a cheaper price than top-name clubs. I would like to wish you good luck.

  7. Its hard to buy a set for someone else because golf is so heavily based on feel.  Your best bet would to be to get him a gift certificate and let him pick out what he wants.  If he is just starting some lessons wouldnt be a bad idea either

  8. He needs to go with you. It will be a good expensive trip for the both of you to bond. Be careful though. If he golfs too much he won't spend time with you.
