New Hampsters, weird games?

I recently purchased 4 new hampsters for my roomates kid and neices. One day while home alone, one of the hampsters got out. I was laying out back tanning and decided to let them go for a swim in their ball I truely thought the ball would just skim across the top but instead it sank. I was just trying to cool them off. Their was way to much cholrine and I just had my hair done, so I couldnt jump in. Should I feel really horrible? I didnt mean to harm them.

While your action was not intentional, your excuse seems rather lame - I just got my hair done.  Laying out in the sun usually means you have your swimsuit on which indicates you had to take your shirt off to get your suit on.  Unless you were wearing a button down blouse, that shirt went over your head and already "ruined" your hair.
