New House--Hole In The Wall??? Ideas please!?

My husband and I are buying a newer home (approx. 4 yrs old). My question is, other than filling it, what the heck can I do with the giant holes in the wall that these newer homes were built as. I imagine these very deep holes were made for your tv. Since they've gone flat, there's no need for all the space. So, I'm looking for ideas on utilizing this space until I can have it filled.

  1. i had one of those, cut a board s***w up where the whole is, and paint over it.

  2. Oh you can definatley get creative. Book case, liquor cabinet (if you drink), I like the aquarium idea, you could even us it as a computer center, etc.

  3. Well, if the flat panel is big enough, hang it over it to hide the opening. Depending on the height of it, you could possibly install doors on it  and use it as a cabinet for your electronic components like DVD, Bluray, Receiver etc. Then hang the TV above it. Treat it as cabinet space for anything you want basically if you dont want to drywall it in.

Have collectibles? Install a light and install glass doors.

  4. plants, aquarium, large painting, sculpture

    good luck
