My son got a new "baby iguana" today. I have a iguanarium cage for it, repti turf in the bottom. a large water bowl he can get in and small that he cant..food dish, heat lamp..humidity in our area is 70% normally. and I went and got mustard greens/butternut squash/and mango's that we've choped into nearly a mush.. anything else folks can recomend..

Oh. he has a vet appointment with a herp vet for check up and worming in a week. Place he came from was filthy. He is small and a bit thin but not horrible, ( heads not as large as a thumb nail) he was alert, and in good color.

  1. romaine is good, but kale has alot more vitamin C.  I always fed mine shredded carrots, romaine, parsley, broccoli, bananas, cantaloupe etc.   Just a variety of fruits and vegetables.  NEVER feed it spinach!

Depending on how big your cage is, i could tell you if the heat is enough.  You need to have a thermometer, some type of UV light (UV  helps to absorb calcium), and some way for it to thermo regulate (being able to get closer and farther away from heat source.)

I had a blue-headed iguana for about 5 years until it got stolen.  I got him the same way, it was adopted from a worthless couple.  He had a calcium deficiency, and missing 2 fingers.

Feel free to ask for help. ; )

  2. I highly recommend romaine lettuce, Iguanas love it!
