New Jersey Devils' Adam Henrique confident of team rebounding in Game 4 -NHL Playoffs Update
New Jersey Devils are down by a depressing 3-0 deficit in the 2012 National Hockey League (NHL) Stanley Cup Finals against Los Angeles Kings, but for rookie forward, Adam Henrique, this is nothing new.
The young forward was with the Windsor Spitfires in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) during the 2010 OHL Playoffs against Kitchener Rangers as his team faced a 3-0 situation as well. Henrique and the Spitfires amazingly came back to win four straight and
take the best-of-seven series to win the Memorial Cup.
Knowing that he has done it before, Henrique is confident of a comeback in Game 4 and is definitely hoping to give it all in order to take the series to a Game 7 competition, which would certainly make NHL history.
"Four wins in a row isn't impossible," Henrique said on Tuesday, June 5, 2012, a day before Game 4 is to kick off at the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, California.
To back Henrique’s claims, there are the New Jersey Devils that have some top level players that just need to step up their game. They have one of the best goalies in the league, Martin Brodeur, along with forwards like Zach Parise and Ilya Kovalchuk.
"It was a couple tough breaks, a couple bad bounces, they got one from the red line," Henrique said, talking about his minor league comeback "It's 3-0 all of a sudden, but we believed in ourselves. We knew we could come back. We got that first one out of
the way, then it's 3-2, 3-3, Game 7. Then we got to the finals and sweep the finals. Sometimes it's a matter of getting that first win and getting on a roll."
Henrique, an 82nd overall draft pick back in 2008 by New Jersey Devils, has been performing beyond expectations in the major league so far.
Last season was definitely a breakthrough for him with 51 points (16 goals, 35 assists) in 74 games played. Right now, Henrique has 11 points (3 goals, 8 assists) in 21 playoff games.
Game 4 will be exiting as Adam Henrique prepares to go in with everything he has got, but will New Jersey Devils be able to contribute towards it, fans will just have to wait and see.
