New Jersey Devils aim to force Game 7 while Los Angeles Kings ready to finish it-NHL Playoffs Preview
Game 6 of the 2012 National Hockey League (NHL) Stanley Cup Finals is nearly hear and for Los Angeles Kings, it will be especially important that they end the series right then and there as New Jersey Devils aim to continue rolling and force a Game 7 competition
back at home.
Los Angeles Kings are going through some tough times after they put New Jersey on the brink of elimination with a 3-0 deficit right into the series as Devils found a new spark of hope and won two back-to-back.
Martin Brodeur was seen to be just unable to compete with a young Los Angeles Kings’ goalie, Jonathan Quick, but he showed that veteran leadership does not show itself in haste but takes time.
"His performance speaks for itself," Devils coach, Peter DeBoer, said speaking about Martin Brodeur. "It's the timing of it. You know, I think the fact we're 9-1 or 10-1 in Games 4 through 7 in a series is a testament to how he enjoys that type of pressure."
There were a number of things that Los Angeles Kings were lacking on in the previous two games of the series and one of the biggest aspects was definitely offensive power. Los Angeles had not lost more than one in any series prior to this one, which could
be a bad sign for them.
"I think we just have confidence in ourselves," Kings’ defenseman, Rob Scuderi, said. "Most of the season was kind of a struggle for us, large parts of it at least, but I think, in the end, everyone thought that we had the answer in this room. I don't think
this situation is any different. We have to feel the same way."
If Kings lose Game 6 at the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, California, on Monday, June 11, 2012, than having to head back to the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, for the final game of the series will certainly be difficult.
It will definitely be exciting to see who turns out as the victor as the matchup kicks off at 8:00 PM ET.
