New Jersey Devils confident, Los Angeles Kings looking to end it in Game 5 -NHL Stanley Cup Preview
The series took an unwanted turn for Los Angeles Kings as New Jersey Devils finally came out of the box and won Game 4 for their first victory of the 2012 National Hockey League (NHL) Stanley Cup Finals.
Now with Game 5 fast approaching, Devils are surely going to continue with their new found spark while Kings will be hoping to take down the New Jersey team as soon as possible before the situation gets out of their hands.
"We definitely are looking forward to the next game and some of the momentum," veteran NJ goalie, Martin Brodeur, said. "Finally, we were able to score goals on Quick, not many, but enough to win. Hopefully, that's going to be a good thing for the boys coming
home, that we're a little better offensively on home ice."
With the series back in Newark, New Jersey, having the home advantage will definitely be something Devils look to utilise against Los Angeles Kings after nearly being eliminated.
"We know the Prudential Center's going to be rocking, just like when we had to go back to Phoenix and play Game 5, go back to Vancouver and play Game 5," Kings forward, Justin Williams, said. "The arenas are going to be rocking and we'll have to be ready
for them. We just don't let any distractions bother us. We go in, we play our game."
Looking at it realistically, there is nothing stopping the New Jersey Devils from winning Game 5 and 6 and it surely will not be the first time they have done so. But statistically and looking back at the NHL Stanley Cup Finals history, no team has ever
achieved such a feat.
Kings are confident looking at history but Devils are planning to rewrite it for sure.
Game 5 will certainly be exciting as both teams battle out for Stanley Cup glory and an opportunity to drink out of the most coveted prize in the hockey world.
It all kicks off on Saturday, June 9, at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, at 8:00 PM ET.
Prediction:
New Jersey Devils will force Game 6 after taking down Los Angeles Kings 3-2 in overtime.
