New Jersey Devils could lose Zach Parise due to financial issues -NHL Update
New Jersey Devils very well might be taking home the 2012 National Hockey League (NHL) Stanley Cup as they battle it out currently against New York Rangers in the Eastern Conference Finals, but that will not help them in keeping Zach Parise whatever the
situation may be.
It is reported that managing partner of the New Jersey Devils’ Jeff Vanderbeek, is stuck in a huge amount of debt on the Prudential Center in Newark and with close to needing $80 million, it is hard to see how Devils will manage to keep Zach Parise on the
squad.
Parise still has six weeks to decide on whether he wants to go or stay with the deadline approaching on July 1 later on this year, but Parise himself, has not let anyone know about what he is thinking except his dad.
J.P. Parise did not mention whether what he said was from Zach, but gave a hint at where he is planning on heading in an interview with Arthur Staple of Newsday.com.
"Zach likes Torts a lot," J.P. said about his son liking New York Rangers’ head coach, John Tortorella’s style. "Zach knows how to work; he doesn't shy away from the discipline part of it. He'd fit right in there."
Adding on to his statement, J.P Parise explained on how he had offered advice to his son on making a decision which he felt was right for him and nobody else. Whether it be with New Jersey or maybe even New York, it should be the right one.
"All I said was, don't make a decision based on emotion, in the heat of things," J.P. said. "He's waited a long time to be in this position . . . He loves the Devils, he loves Pete DeBoer and Lou Lamoriello. There's time for all these things to be decided."
There has been no confirmation from either side where Zach Parise is headed or whether he is talking to the Devils management as of yet since the team is busy battling it out with New York Rangers for Eastern Conference supremacy. Whatever the situation
is, Parise is bound to be one of the biggest names in this year’s free agency for sure.
