New Jersey Devils defeat the Boston Bruins 3-2 – NHL Recap  
The New Jersey Devils beat the Boston Bruins 3-1 at the Prudential Centre on Sunday. The game was more of a formality as the Devils are already out of the National Hockey League play-off contention while the Bruins were looking to win for a confidence boost
to the end of the season.
The Devils were quick out of the blocks and scored the opening goal to get into the lead. The Bruins were able to respond and scored in the middle part of the period to level the score. The second period saw the Devils coming up with a competitive defence
and offence. In the end, there were no goals and the period ended with the score still level on 1-1. The final period saw both teams coming up with quite a few shots on goal but it was the Devils who scored twice compared to the one goal scored by Bruins.
The game ended with the Devils winning the game 3-2 in the end with Vladimir Zharkov named the Star of the Game as he scored goal that put the Devils in the end.
The Devils were the dominating force at the start of the game as they fired shots on goal with spectacular passing and play-making they were able to get into the lead. The goal was scored by Patrik Elias from a quick fired and well placed flick-shot.
The Devils continued to pile pressure on the opposing team but they were unable to find the back of the net with regularity. The Bruins got better with the passage of time and scored in 11th minute through Rich Peverley from a well placed flick-shot
to level the score.
Both teams continued to fire shots on goal but they were unable to score. Though some of the chances were potentially goal scoring but they could not score and the period ended with the score level on 1-1 with the Devils making 14 shots on goal while the
Bruins managed 11 attempts.
The second period saw the Devils on top as they fired shots on goal and restricted the opposition to almost nothing during the period. The Bruins displayed a very weak defence which was surprising ahead of the play-offs.
The period did not see any goals and ended with the teams’ level on 1-1 with the Devils making 10 shots on goal while the Bruins made just one.
The final period saw the Devils scoring in the fourth minute through Vladimir Zharkov to get into the lead. The Devils extended their lead with another goal in the 10th minute which was scored by Alexander Urbom from a brilliant wrap around shot.
Though the Bruins scored in the final minute through Chris Kelly from a simple tip in shot but it were the Devils who won the game 3-2.
