New Jersey Devils plays host to Washington Capitals in their fourth and final meeting - NHL Previews
The first game of Friday will be played at the Prudential Center as the home team, New Jersey Devils, plays host to Washington Capitals.

This will be the fourth and final meeting between the two teams during the course of the season. Capitals have won two out of the three
games during the season and they came up with a decent performance in their last game and won the game with a dominating score line of 5-1.
Devils will be hoping to win a game after the recent inconsistent run which has hindered them from making their way into the playoffs.

They were in sublime form as they won games consecutively to draw themselves so close to the playoff cut.

However, with just six points between them and the final playoff position occupying team, they have been unable to come up with wins.
The game would see Jason Arnott returning to his former home from where he was traded but he won’t be a part of the team since he is injured
and this will be his third game sitting on the bench.
David Steckel will be playing in place of Arnott in the game against his former team, Washington Capitals.
Capitals were going through some of their best times in the league as they not only notched up important points but also managed to pile
up some consecutive wins.
At one stage of the season they were struggling and it looked as if they would slip out of the playoff cut but now they are contending
for the top spot in the Eastern Conference with Philadelphia Flyers.
They were on a nine-game winning streak which Capitals snapped as they faced Detroit Red Wings, ending in a 3-2 loss for them.

They are just two points behind Flyers and in a strong position to win the game and take the lead in the Eastern Conference.
Capitals have played 72 games during the course of the season out which they have won 41 games in regulation time and 10 games in overtime
to score a total of 92 points.
Devils, on the other hand, have played 70 games out which they have won 33 games in regulation time and four games in overtime to score
a total of 70 points.
Devils are in good form recently as they have managed to win 23 games in regulation time out of the last 29 games.
"It'll be a tough matchup, Washington has a lot of skilled players, but we feel we can beat anyone we play … it's going to be a great game",
Devils’ forward, Brian Rolston, said.
Both teams have an equal chance of winning the game but Capitals are strong on paper.

However, as it is said, games aren’t won on paper so both teams have a good chance of winning as they both
have been in good recent form.
