New Jersey Devils thrash Washington Capitals 5-0
The 299th game of the 2010 Compuware Premiere Series witnessed the New Jersey Devils playing host to the Washington Capitals. The match was played at the Prudential Centre this Monday in front of 14,000 fans. The Washington Capitals played their 22nd game while the New Jersey Devils played their 21st of the campaign thus far.
The Washington Capitals began the period making a couple of shots in the opening stages of the period. As time passed, the home team gained confidence which resulted in them piling up attack after attack.

The 2nd half of the match saw the home team continue dominating the game. They managed to score in the 3rd minute of the period through a powerful strike from Jason Arnott, scoring his 2nd goal of the night.
The home team pressed in search of another goal and was successful in scoring in the 8th minute. The goal was scored by Dainius Zubrus that took the score to 5-0 in favour of the home team and set the home crowd wild.

The final period of the match saw both teams attack and defend but this likeminded approach had them matched equally with no further scores.
