New Jersey Devils value Peter DeBoer and his emotional coaching -NHL Playoffs Update
There are some coaches in the National Hockey League (NHL) that really do not care what goes on the ice besides the fact whether their team is winning or not and some are like New Jersey Devils’ head coach, Peter DeBoer who puts himself in their place.
Being in the 2012 National Hockey League (NHL) Stanley Cup Eastern Conference Finals against New York Rangers is definitely an emotional situation and DeBoer is not shy of hiding that fact. New Jersey players realise their coach’s emotions and value them
limitlessly.
"The type of emotion that's involved is the same, but the only difference is you have 10 million people here [watching]," DeBoer said during a conference call with media on Tuesday, May 22, 2012.
DeBoer showed that he was certainly involved during a verbal scuffle with New York Rangers coach, John Tortorella, following an incident which had Mike Rupp punching Martin Brodeur in the chest.
"It's part of the game and part of playoff hockey, and Pete's been really good to us all playoff long," Brodeur said. "Usually he puts his emotions in check a little bit but at that time of the game, it was probably appropriate for him to step out and have
a little conversation. Whatever was said, I don't know, but we know he cares. I think he shows a lot of people that he's really into this just as much as the players."
DeBoer might not have been the head coach of the Devils for more than a year, but he certainly has given his heart and soul for the team which is now closer than ever to hoisting the Stanley Cup above their shoulders.
Players are most definitely taking notice of the fact their coach is giving his all to help them win. It certainly showed by how they played in Game 4, levelling the series with the most dominating match of the series so far.
New Jersey Devils are pumped up and ready to take down New York Rangers come the tie-breaking Game 5 on Wednesday, May 23, at the Madison Square Garden.
It will certainly be exciting to see how the series playoffs out with such high levels of emotions involved.
