New Jersey Devils win fourth consecutive game 5-2 against Florida Panthers
One of the most eye catching matches of this weekend was the New Jersey Devils playing host to the Florida Panthers.
New Jersey Devils defeated league leaders, Philadelphia Flyers 3-1 this Saturday, which put them just a point behind Edmonton Oilers.
This was the 723rd game of the season, which was played at the Prudential Centre with around 15,000 fans coming to witness the match.
New Jersey Devils dominated the game right from the start of the proceedings piling up attacks after attacks and were the more productive team of the night winning the match 5-2 in the end.
Ilya Kovalchuk, winger of the New Jersey Devils was named the star selection of the match for his goal and two assists.
New Jersey Devils’s confidence came through in the match against the Philadelphia Flyers. The confidence was shown in the game as they fired shots on the opposing goal right from the word go. The home team’s brilliance in passing got past the opposing defence.
New Jersey Devils with the strong offence scored through Ilya Kovalchuk in the 5th minute through a simple tip in shot. Both teams stepped up their offence after the goal.
Some excellent pieces of plays were developed by both sides. However, it was New Jersey Devils, who scored through Jason Arnott from a brilliant backhand shot in the final minute to double their lead.

Both teams continued their attacks and chances kept coming their way. The New Jersey Devils being the stronger of the two teams in offence scored once again in the 13th minute through Brian Rolston from a powerful strike.
A few minutes later, New Jersey Devils completed a dominating period’s performance with another goal in the 18th minute scored by Patrik Elias. The period ended with the New Jersey Devils leading 4-1 as they made 9 goal attempts while the Panthers
made 7 goal attempts.
The final period saw both teams continuing on the same road as the previous two periods. The away side was the first to score in the period through Marty Reasoner in the 6th minute from a spectacular flick shot.
The period saw both teams continuing to come across scoring opportunities. Jason Arnott sealed the match for the Devils with his second goal in the 19th minute from a superb strike. The period and match ended with the New Jersey Devils winning
5-2 in the end.
