New Jersey Nets, Denver Nuggets - NBA teams which can become strong by acquiring Josh Smith (Part-2)
New Jersey Nets:
The New Jersey Nets are planning to make some drastic changes in their roster. Their current roster is not performing up-to the expectations level while their management is also aware of this sudden declined in their thrust. The
only player, who is somewhat considered as a real superstar in their roster is Deron Williams. They need some more fire power in their roster to excel in the National Basketball Association (NBA).
Recently, some basketball experts have speculated about the Atlanta Hawks’ forward Josh Smith and his potential trade. The Hawks are very serious about his trade. The main reason that has come in public is still not confirmed,
but many still believe as Smith will be heading to some other team in the league. The Hawks want to cut short their excessive salary caps among their entire roster which will certainly give them some room to include some low valued players into their roster.
Releasing Josh will certainly help the Hawks as he earns a great amount of fortune from the Hawks.
On the other hand, it will open many other opportunities for Josh Smith. He is certainly a good player with lots of league experience while any NBA team would be much interested to sign him. Among many, the New Jersey Nets are
the foremost best team in which Josh Smith can go and prove his talent. He has huge aggressive attitude towards his game with an extra athleticism on the court. His arrival will certainly make things more competitive especially for the Nets in near future.
Although, the Nets’ stats were pretty demeaning in 2010-2011 season, but their management is doing deep planning to upgrade their stats. They finished 12th
overall in the Eastern Conference behind the Detroit Pistons. The Nets won 24 and lost total 58 games with a winning average of 0.293. To improve these stats in the next season, the Nets certainly need another potential NBA star that will play alongside
with Deron Williams and could make things extremely difficult for any opponent in the league.
Denver Nuggets:
Last season, the Denver Nuggets finished fifth overall in the Western Conference. Despite the trade of their superstar Carmelo Anthony, the Nuggets still managed to finish the 2010-2011 NBA season on a high note. They won 50 games
and lost total 32 games. Their winning percentage remained consistent with 0.610 but down the stretch in the post season, their performance declined with real pace. They could not hold on to their regular season’s performance and lost early in the playoffs.
The Oklahoma City Thunder defeated them in the first round playoffs. The best of seven series was won by the Thunder when they won the series with 4-1.
Since the Nuggets have traded Carmelo to the New York Knicks, their team has faced consistent crumple and never looked confident on the court. The recent lockout in the league has given some extra time to the Nuggets management
to make some relevant changes in their strategy and boost-up the teams’ morals. The first step towards boosting-up their teams’ morale would certainly be making changes in their current roster. They need some extra fire power in their side and right now the
Nuggets have a golden chance to pursue Josh Smith.
Smith will bring some extra experience in the Nuggets young roster. He is not only a very quick player but his offensive ball play will also help the Denver Nuggets in near future. His scoring abilities are also well known in the
league as he always helped the Hawks down the stretch in many games.
