New Jersey Nets assistant coach John Loyer gets permission to talk to Detroit Pistons: NBA Update

The New Jersey Nets’ assistant coach John Loyer has been granted permission from the management to interview with Detroit Pistons’ head coach Lawrence Frank who is extremely busy finding an assistant for his coaching staff. John
Layer has spent two seasons with the Nets so far as an assistant coach and was recently approached by the Pistons management for a potential coaching job in its franchise.
An inside source has speculated about Loyer’s potential talks with the Pistons’ management in next couple of days. No official statement has arrived yet in the media from both franchises about the potential permission of John Loyer.
On the other hand, the Pistons head coach Frank is getting desperate to bring someone who will help the franchise for future seasons.
Earlier, Lawrence Frank has also stated in the media regarding the potential assistant coach for the Pistons. He told a reporter and explained with great brief. Frank said, “I want our staff to embrace our core values, but I want
different backgrounds, I don’t want five of one guy. So you’re going to see a staff of different backgrounds, different experiences and then we bring it all together. If you have five of the same type of guy, to me that’s not effective.”  Frank further said,
“I want people of high character, compassionate, can teach the game, lifelong learners, but I want different backgrounds, I know who I am. I know my strengths and weaknesses. I want to compensate for them.”
Though, these all traits are hard to find in one person but John Loyer has some excellent coaching experience and can help the Pistons for their future season. He has been coaching for a while now and currently doing his job with
the Nets in a very fine manner. Loyer has always regarded among top assistant coaches in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and if his talks went successful with the Pistons management, he will prove great help for their management.
Before coming into the NBA, John Loyer gained enough coaching experience with the University of Cincinnati. He helped the Cincinnati University’s Basketball team, the Cincinnati Bearcats for several years and built their team as
consistent performer in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) competition. Though, he worked very hard with the Bearcats but his involvement in a controversy flared up the UC president Joseph Steger, who later fired him.
However, the Portland Trail Blazers hired John Loyer as advance scout for their franchise and provided him a great opportunity to start his professional basketball coaching career in the biggest basketball league in the world.
He spent almost three years with the Blazers and joined the Philadelphia 76ers. After spending four seasons with the 76ers, he joined the Nets as assistant coach.
