New Jersey Nets guard Terrence Williams out for next two games
Nets guard Terrence Williams will miss New Jersey's next two games for repeatedly violating team rules. Williams, who was drafted eleventh overall in last year's draft, will be inactive
for the Nets' home game against the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday and New Jersey's match against the Boston Celtics on Wednesday night.

New Jersey Nets coach Avery Johnson declined to discuss the circumstances surrounding Williams' suspension. However, he noted that Williams has not fallen in line despite being fined repeatedly
by the team. Johnson said that the suspension is a substitute for a fine.
"It has been something that we have dealt with for the past two to three weeks or so, and I don't know if he completely understands what we are trying to do,'' Johnson said.

Told to stay home
Williams has missed five of the Nets' last seven games due to an abdominal injury. Last Tuesday, he was told by team officials to stay home.

Johnson said that Williams' situation will undergo constant evaluation. He adds that he is currently focusing on players who have bought into his approach.
"It's a joy to coach them; they really get after it in practice.''

In spite of keeping mum about the reason for the suspension, Johnson indicated that Williams' approach to the game has not been consistent. He said that he would comment more on Williams'
situation in the coming days. "One of the things with the NBA is not about being an NBA player, it's about being a professional."

Williams has been designated as New Jersey's sixth man this season. He splits his time between the shooting guard and small forward positions, playing behind Travis Outlaw and Anthony Morrow.
In eight games this season, he is averaging 6.8 points, three assists and 3.8 rebounds while shooting 39.7 percent from the field.
