New Jersey Nets start selling tickets of their new unfinished arena in Brooklyn – NBA Update
The New Jersey Nets have started selling the season tickets of their new unfinished arena in Brooklyn, the Barclays Centre, for the 2012-13 season. The sports arena currently under construction, is being erected partially on a
platform over the Metropolitan Transportation Authority-owned Vanderbilt Yards at Atlantic Avenue. It will comprise of a business and residential complex, total cost of the project is estimated to be 4.9 billion dollars. The arena will be the new home for
the Nets who are currently dwelling at Prudential Centre in Newark, New Jersey.
The Nets chief executive officer Brett Yormark said that his team has started selling tickets to estimate how many season-ticket holders would turn-up for the shift to Brooklyn. The Nets has started selling tickets of the new arena
from Wednesday. Yormark said that they are giving opportunity to the current season tickets holders to buy one of the best ticket packages, this will be called "All Access" season tickets. Season ticket holders will get the passes of these premium locations,
which will allow them to buy tickets prior to the general public to non-Nets events at the Barclays Centre.
The premium ticket holders will get infinite food from designated clubs, the deal also includes all fixed concession stands during games. Other perks with the pass include a private entrance, devoted VIP speed lines, concierge
service and early access into the stadium. The Nets has mailed the offers recently.
The offer is going to cover 4,000 club and courtside seats in the arena. Yormark added that entire top of the line All Access seats have been sold. But he did not told, how much they cost. The price of the remaining top seats ranges
from $99 to $1,500 per seat.
"We always promised anyone that was buying in New Jersey would have the right to first buy Brooklyn," Yormark said, adding the general public would be offered the chance to buy remaining premium seating in June.
The All Access premium season ticket requires three-year commitment as the price of the tickets will remain flat throughout. Yormark told that non-premium seats will most likely go on sale during the fall.
The Nets also declared that the price of 2,000 tickets will be under $15 and by max at $15 for every game, and the tickets will be made available to the community from the Barclays Centre, as they will be allocating the tickets
for all events. This was committed to in the Community Benefits Agreement of 2005.
Fifty percent of the tickets will be priced at $55 or less per game for all season, and lower level season tickets will begin from $65. Personal seat licenses are not going to be allocated.
Yormark said, "Our number one priority in pricing our tickets was to ensure that Nets games are accessible to everyone."
The Barclays Centre will going to cater more than 200 events yearly, including boxing, concerts, professional tennis, college basketball, hockey, and family shows.
