I recently bought a new Lifan 250 lf250 cruiser v-twin from ebay and put it togethor and started it up yesterday. I warmed it up and noticed that it immediately dies as soon as the choke is turned off. I left the choke on and proceeded to drive to the gas station assuming if i warmed it up more it would work right, Got there filled up with gas, and drove home as it bogged and backfired down the street to my house. As it warmed up it became worse and worse so i shut it off in my yard and went to start it half an hour later now all it does is turns over and won't start. When i first try to start it in mornings such as yesterday it starts quick and idles for about 5 seconds and stalls and will repeat that 50 times before i can give it enough throttle without it stalling out to keep it running. It is fairly cold here (40Degrees) but i don't think that is the problem. It could also be since it is no name it has no markings, it could be the choke is off and wont run with choke on is this pos..........

  1. You have either a fuel delivery problem or a bad vacuum leak. Look for pinched or plugged fuel lines or a defective fuel petcock. The carburetor(s) floats could also be sticking or sinking.

Look for an unconnected vacuum line or lines near the carburetor(s). If these steps don't turn up the problem you'll have to get it to a motorcycle shop. Don't expect any of the major brand shops to work on it, though.

Personally I would not have bought an off-brand like that. Support and parts are going to be difficult, at best, to obtain.

    Good luck.

  2. Why dont you ask this question is the Motorcycle section, with in > Car & Transport.

As this bike is not involed with RACING, you will get better answers in the correct section.

  3. Lifans are junk dude. You need to take the carb off, take the SLOW jet out and blow it out with an air compressor. I bet there was something in the tank after assembly that got stuck in it. If you can find a diagram you should take some time to clean out the carb. Maybe adjust the floats and clean the MAIN jet as well. I had the same type of problem on my off brand pit bike that had a Lifan motor. Take some time and clean her up and you'll be good!
