Im just curious when new life(baby) became a negative thing. It seems you have to decide rather to say Im sorry or congratulations.

I always thought pregnancy and birth was the greatest time in a persons life watching and pushing. Is anything ever always good.

Ex.Got a promotion today better pay new office...downside late hours more pressure.

  1. You don't need to 'say' anything at all.  Just mind your own business and everything will be fine.

I have heard plenty of women complaining about morning sickness, not being able to get a decent nights sleep as they grew larger, and other things.  Being pregnant doesn't look like a barrel of laughs to me: it takes a huge toll on the woman's body.  It is most certainly NOT "the greatest time in a persons life" and women are always happiest when its OVER.

  2. Despite the pain and once when I hemorrhaged badly afterwards, I still thought it was wonderful, a life changing event becoming a mother.

Being pregnant and giving birth was no picnic, but that is life.  No one gets through life easily with everything and if they do, then it's not really living IMO.

  3. it is amazing that new life has become a "negative".  It's mostly due to the fact that we live in a culture on consumption, and a baby can ruin the little princes and princesses lifestyle choices.  But there is a cultural push to make having children a negative lifestyle choice.  Maybe its due to overpopulation, who knows.  I just thank the kid-free folks for making our choice of having kids (lots of em) easier.  In the famous words of Jerry Seinfeld they can have their "barren, sterile existence that ends when they die".

honesty-exactly, nothings better in life than finding out that your needs come a far distance 2nd to the little babe that you have to raise.  Cheers

  4. There's a downside to most everything...

  5. Not always. There are some people who don't want children and the thought of being pregnant/childbirth makes them feel a mix of emotions. Sometimes they are happy, but sometimes they are angry and can panic. Personally, I think you should just let it be.

  6. It's what you make of it.

  7. I think Shrieking Violet summed it up pretty good.  I didn't have fun being pregnant.  It wasn't the best time in my life.  The horrible pain was by far a blessing.  The epidural was a blessing...LOL  I wouldn't trade having my kids for anything but all the stuff I went through to have them, minus the s*x, I could have done without.

My first child wasn't planned.  I was not married, with a guy for about a year, he didn't stick around after I told him.  So no, not the best circumstances to have a child.  However, I took responsibility for my own actions.

  8. i was actually wondering about this question the other day. i agree with the person that said that princes and princesses don't want to give up their luxuries. when i found out that i was pregnant with my son i cried my  eyes out. all i could think was how i wasn't ready for a child since i was still in college. i also thought that wasn't going to be able to give the baby everything he deserved. but i toughed it out, and early on i didn't know anything else, except the fact that i loved my baby and i wanted it. and now that i look at my son and see him laugh and play and cling on to my legs and walking around, i wonder how i could ever have thought this would have been bad. if i got pregnant again, i wouldn't be as upset as i was the first time around, but being that i'm still in school, i would feel that i'm not going to be able to give either child the physical and financial necessities. sometimes that's also a factor. it amazed me to have to seriously put all of my son's needs before my wants and some needs. my son is almost 1 and i haven't bought shoes for myself since i was 3 months pregnant. i guess to answer your question, pregnancy became a bad thing when society became a place where everyone was out for self and career became a priority over family and personal happiness.
