New Navy combat uniforms?

Are they really blue Camouflage Uniforms? Are they really wearing them? When do they start wearing them? What situations do they wear them?

I think it's lame. I spent 21 years in dungarees and chambray shirts. Adding on unnecessary  uniforms is a waste of money. Somebody's clothing company in India is going to make an American owner very rich!

Some of us went through this drill when Admiral Zumwalt decided that we should wear the CPO type uniforms. They didn't last 3 years before we went back to the traditional Cracker Jack uniforms. Somebody needs to do some fleet research. The Navy always had distinctive uniforms why change them now?

While providing comfort and better maneuverability, the camo pattern is to help hide any stains or messes that may occur while on board or at port. Look it up. You morons, and I mean that like it sounds, who respond with ignorance is just plain dumb. Before you say something is stupid, look it up and appear at least like you're trying to not be a fool. You can simply google "navy new uniform" and all sorts of sites will come up. An easy one is navy.mil with several stories about the new uniforms.

Yes, this is true.

It is a light blue/grey camo pattern.  They are expected to replace the utilities as the working uniform in 2009.

The purpose is not so we can hide onboard ship, but to provide a comfortable uniform that is easy to work in, looks professional, and lasts a long time.

The fact that it is basically the same as the Marine uniform with a different color allows it to be cheaper since it can be made on the manufacturing same line.

We do not call it a combat uniform and it is a thousand times better than the utilities we currently wear.

navy "combat" uniforms...what a joke.the only navy personnel that will see true combat are members of DEVGRU and Corpsman attached to Marines, and Corpsman wear MARPAT.
