New Orleans’ Jay Price of Qatar Team resigns: 2011 UIM F1 H2O World Championship
New Orleans-based motor boat driver, Jay Price of Qatar Team, has announced his resignation after the conclusion of 2011 UIM F1 H2O World Championship. The former World Champion believes he has had enough in his career and it is time to move ahead now.
The two-time runner-up of the UIM F1 H2O World Championship had a superb last season and finished at the second podium place in the overall standings of the championship, which ended at Sharjah in December.
Jay Price of Louisiana has resigned from Qatar Team at a time when the 2012 UIM F1 H2O World Championship is just 10 weeks away from is official commencement. Price’s resignation will be a great loss and will create a huge vacuum in the team.
Announcing his official resignation from the championship Qatar Team, Price said, “I am announcing my resignation, the final day of 2011 and will be searching for new goals with the start of a new year tomorrow.”
The 2008 World Champion added, “I've done a lot of thinking since the final race at the Grand Prix of Sharjah and feel it's best for all concerned that I walk away from the Qatar organization and rethink my future in the sport.”
The USA veteran had been representing the Qatar Team since 2006. He participated in 52 Grand Prix events and clinched 11 titles. He also said that it is time for him to build his own legacy with a new approach. The Doha and the Qatar Marine Sports Federation
(QMSF) has not yet made any statement on Price’s resignation.
