New Orleans Story & Debate........Is it worth the fortification against the Hurricanes, one after another..???

Katrina in 2005, Gustav in 2008, Hanna---soon........ what else?

Researchers said land below sea level, like Holland--last time, now not the same. Valuable Oil factors, human interest to stay and plan for greater development to take place.

All the aboves are on the balancing scale and can move up or down on either side, so American ----make a firm decision to save or not to save???

As one say ...Don't be dump, dump ...look up and learn from others, no more big brother to the world........Don't be shy???

China did what they need to do and do it with full force from President downward to army, navy and air force with the common people.....All In ONE. ACTION FOR DISASTER RECOVERY. Holland is below sea level and flood throughout the years in olden time.......now no problem ......WHY?? HOW??? WHAT was done, Who did it....& Where to do it @ WHERE???

Suggestion: China built the Great Wall to block out the attackers, Can American do it to block out the waves & wind....Think hard for it. (What about a giant wall with curve-in swing head to return the force to the sea ) What did Holland do to stop the flood or raise the land to safety. When there is a will, there is a way. If you have the will, you can move the mountain to fill the sea........a chinese saying thousand of years ago.

American.......put on your thinking cap to find a simple solution. .

  1. I say NO ! Its not worth the money and time and lifes to try to save a sunk ship. Its the people that make New Orleans what it is, it would still be New Orleans if it was moved 60 miles inland higher on a hill.

Wathcing the news today and seeing the people bytch about being moved out and the stome not being so bad, etc. Well then raise the property taxes in Louisiana to build a motel complex big enuff for 2 billion people, have it sit empty untill needed for the people being moved out in bad weather. This will give them a nice place to live in bad weather till they get the water and power back on in effected areas.

The main point is.....dont ask for Americans to save a sunk ship any longer. Why should a retired bus driver in Grasshopper Junction pay taxes to rebuild New Orlens time and time again ? I've heard people say then why do we pay to rebuild Cailf time and time again.....well most homes in areas that burn every year or are in mud slide areas do not have insureance or if they do it cost BIG TIME !

    IMHO !

  2. China built the Great Wall to block out the attackers, Can American do it to block out the waves & wind...?

Well, it is a good question and worthy of thinking hard. My opinion is not to copy what the Chinese have done completely and we should take some measures according to the actual situation and the existed technology to make a more suitable solution. Yes, the Great Wall is exceptional, but it is not to say it benefits every case. To keep balance of the nature and protect the green is what we can do now and easy to achieve.

  3. Gustav, the mother of all storms ? Just wait until a real tide happens and I am refering to a big tsunamis  Even a 50 foot wall surroundig the whole of the US would not stop that. New Orleans has been there for a long time and will be there for a lot longer. But it does prove that global warming is hotting up
