New Orleans help?

What is a good organization to get involved in to help out New Orleans? There is still a ton to re-build. Anyone know? If so please provide name and possibly a link. Thanks!

The other answers have good suggestions, but almost all of the organizations they list are structured to receive help from GROUPS of volunteers who are already part of an organization and just need a local coordinator.  That includes Habitat for Humanity.

Also realize that New Orleans needs help with more than just gutting flooded houses, and much of the population that organizations depended on for volunteers (pre-Katrina) is gone.

I recommend you make contact with Covenant House, which is a Catholic organization that provides services for orphans and single women with children:
