New Poem Opinions Please?

Question

Well i wrote this poem for this contest http://allpoetry.com/contest/2415519

Since you've been gone my hearts been torn in two between mommy and you.

All I can really trust right now is my teddy.

Mommy telling everyone how mean you are when you really aren't.

Why can't she love you like I do Daddy?

Everythings changed and walls are becoming paper thin.

Sleep doesn't come easily anymore.

Mommy thinks I don't know about the nights when all you did was fight.

In the dead of the night i saw your car away, you never came back.

Since your been gone everyone whispers around us.

I tell Teddy all my secrets because i know he wont throw them back at me.

Dad i just turn sixteen and i finally realized,

The bad they put you out to be was what you were all along.

No birthday cards or calls to tell me you love me or even miss me.

How could you just forget your own kid?

Mom says you've made a new family.

Isn't there constant ring of regret running through your head.

Excellent i myself am a poet too and book writer. Your poem made me sentimental i really like it. I hope you win.  One of the lines that i really like is "Everythings changed and walls are becoming paper thin.

Sleep doesn't come easily anymore." Good job i like it.

allpoetry is an AMAZING siyte..your poem is great for an ameteur but i guess to match with some phenomenally talented poets there you should first read a lot of their stuff..i suggest you to read poems of Nicolette and Namita they seem to me to be the einstein of poetry world..nice poem by the way..best of luck with the contest..oe  more thing start off joining contests that offer poems below 1000 because the biggies dont usually participate in them and we get an oppertunity to have our work read and appreciated
